Privacy Policy

Rouse Privacy Policy

Effective date: April 26, 2026

This Privacy Policy applies to Rouse for macOS, including the Mac App Store version.

Summary

Rouse works locally on your Mac. The app gives you quick menu bar controls, a fuller dashboard, and an official command line interface without requiring an account, ads, analytics, or tracking SDKs.

Information Rouse does not collect

Information stored locally on your device

Rouse stores app preferences locally on your Mac so the app can work as expected. Depending on the features you use, this may include:

This information stays on your device and is not sent to the developer by the app.

Network activity

The Mac App Store version of Rouse works locally for its core wake-control features. It does not require sign-in or a remote account to use the menu bar controls, open the dashboard, start sessions, or manage rules.

If you choose optional support purchases, the app uses Apple's StoreKit and App Store services to load products, process purchases, and restore previous purchases.

Command line communication

The official rouse command line tool communicates locally with Rouse.app so Terminal commands, shell scripts, and automation tools can control wake sessions. This local communication may use a private shared container managed by macOS. It does not read your documents or data from other apps, and it does not send command line activity to the developer.

Support requests

If you contact support by email, the information you choose to send, such as your email address and the contents of your message, will be used only to respond to your request and improve support quality.

If you use the Rouse feedback form, you may submit feedback anonymously or choose to include an email address for follow-up. The app and support site may also prefill basic context such as app version, build number, macOS version, product channel, and the place where you opened the form.

Third-party services

If you use a third-party email provider or other external service to contact support, your information may also be subject to that service's own terms and privacy practices. The current feedback form is provided through Tally, so form submissions are also subject to Tally's own terms and privacy practices.

Children's privacy

Rouse is not directed to children, and the app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
