Leftovers start unselected. Select by app or category; app data has an extra confirmation because it may contain personal files. Selected leftovers move to macOS Trash.

See what can be cleaned and why other items are kept. Unknown ownership, unsupported structures and incomplete checks remain visible.

A focused first release
Initial real-machine testing used macOS 27.0 on Apple silicon. Hushtrail 0.1.3 removes the exact OS-version gate for Finder Recent Folders and experimental Recents in Chosen Folders. The app requires macOS 27.0 or later; current format, file identity and safety checks still determine whether cleanup is available. Not every newer system has been individually tested.
System recent-document cleanup recognizes .sfl4 archives; it does not promise to erase every app’s own history or every Dock menu. IINA playback history has a separate format-checked adapter. Full Disk Access and a macOS administrator prompt may be needed.
Experimental Recents temporarily moves eligible local files while verifying the search index. It excludes cloud/sync folders, packages, links and other disks. Leftovers does not remove drivers, services, whole containers or unidentified vendor folders.
Hushtrail does not make backup copies, provide app-managed restore, empty Trash, or clean browser history and cookies. History removal can be irreversible; documents and media are kept.
