Trailglass Privacy Policy

Overview

Trailglass is developed by Jamin Zhou. It is a native macOS application for inspecting local AI-agent session logs. You do not need a Trailglass account. Trailglass does not include advertising, tracking SDKs, or developer-operated analytics, and does not automatically upload your session logs to the developer.

Local files and stored information

Trailglass reads files and folders you choose through macOS permission dialogs. Source bookmarks let it access those locations again after restarting. Persisted source bookmarks are read-only. Trailglass does not modify your original session logs. Exports are written only to destinations you choose in a save dialog.

The application stores preferences, recent-source references, window state, and a local session index in its macOS application container. The index can contain session titles, paths, provider details, and search or parsing information derived from the files you authorize. These are local application data, not a cloud backup. Information displayed by the app may include sensitive content already present in your logs.

You can disconnect an authorized source or remove a recent file reference using the app's source-management controls. This removes the associated saved access and library references without deleting your original logs. Exported files remain where you saved them, and you control their deletion and sharing.

Network access and external links

The model-pricing component can download the public LiteLLM pricing catalog hosted by GitHub to estimate token costs. The request is for the public catalog; it does not send your prompts, session logs, or model-selection history. Like other network requests, the hosting service can receive your IP address and standard request information. External project links open in your browser and are subject to the destination site's privacy practices.

Feedback you choose to send

Open Feedback Form opens a Trailglass-specific form hosted by Tally in your browser. Your email address is optional. The link includes the app version, build number, macOS version, and the product name, but no session data or source paths. The developer receives the message, optional contact information, and version context you submit. The form does not request file uploads or collect partial answers before submission. Tally processes technical request data under its own privacy policy at https://tally.so/help/privacy-policy. Providing no email does not make browsing the form invisible to its hosting service.

Email Feedback opens a draft in your mail app. The draft includes the Trailglass version, build number, and macOS version so that a problem can be investigated. You can edit or delete that information before sending. Trailglass does not add session logs, file paths, prompts, or attachments to the draft and does not send the email itself.

If you send email feedback, the developer receives your email address and any text or attachments you include. Feedback is used to respond to your request and improve or troubleshoot Trailglass. Your mail provider also handles email under its own policies. Do not include credentials, confidential conversations, or other people's personal information unless necessary and appropriate to share. Please redact screenshots and excerpts before sending them.

Support correspondence is retained as needed to address your request and keep relevant support records. You can request deletion by contacting the address below, subject to any applicable legal retention obligations. Local files and exports remain under your control; the developer cannot remotely read or delete them.

Apple services

Trailglass offers optional consumable tips and a non-consumable Supporter badge through Apple's in-app purchase system. All session-inspection features remain free. Apple processes payments; Trailglass does not receive your payment-card details. StoreKit provides product prices and verified transaction or entitlement information so the app can acknowledge purchases, display the badge, restore it, and respond to refunds. This information is not linked to your session logs or sent to a developer-operated purchase server. Consumable tips cannot be restored. Purchase information is handled under Apple's policies.

If you install a TestFlight build or share diagnostics with Apple, Apple may collect crash reports, usage information, and feedback under its own TestFlight and diagnostic-data policies. These services are separate from Trailglass's local session processing.

This policy will be updated here when Trailglass's data handling changes. Help → Privacy Policy opens this page in your browser. The app does not bundle a separate offline copy.
