This Privacy Policy applies to PriceBird on iPhone and iPad, including the App Store version and its Designed for iPad availability on compatible Apple silicon Macs.
Summary
PriceBird is designed as a local shopping calculator. The app does not require an account, does not include advertising SDKs, does not track users, and does not sell user data.
Information PriceBird does not collect
- No account information
- No advertising identifiers
- No analytics or tracking data sent to the developer
- No location data
- No contact list, photo library, microphone, or camera data
Information stored locally on your device
PriceBird stores the data it needs locally on your device so the app can work as expected. Depending on the features you use, this may include:
- Calculation history
- Custom units you create
- Compare drafts and reusable calculation details
- Selected home currency and app preferences
- Cached exchange-rate data and update time
This information is stored on your device and is not sent to the developer unless you choose to include relevant details in a support request.
Exchange-rate requests
When you use currency conversion, PriceBird may request exchange rates from ExchangeRate-API at open.er-api.com. The request is used to fetch rate tables for reference conversion. PriceBird does not send your product names, calculation history, custom units, or entered prices to the developer.
The exchange-rate provider may receive standard technical information associated with network requests, such as IP address and request metadata, according to its own practices. Exchange-rate conversion is provided for reference only. Rates may be delayed, cached, or unavailable, and PriceBird does not provide financial advice.
Siri and Shortcuts
PriceBird supports structured unit-price calculations through Siri and Shortcuts. These app intent requests are handled through iOS and the app's local calculation logic. PriceBird does not collect or sell Siri or Shortcuts usage data.
In-app purchases
Optional one-time purchases are processed by Apple through StoreKit. PriceBird does not receive or store payment card details or Apple Account credentials. The app checks transaction and entitlement information provided by StoreKit to deliver purchases and restore the Supporter badge.
Support requests
PriceBird offers email support and a Tally feedback form. The form can be submitted anonymously. You may optionally provide an email address so support can ask follow-up questions.
When the form is opened from the app, PriceBird includes the product and distribution channel, app version and build, platform, system version, device type, entry point, app language, and system language. It does not include an account ID, advertising ID, vendor ID, device name, or another stable user or device identifier.
The message, optional email, and technical context are processed by Tally and used only to investigate the feedback, reply when requested, and improve support quality. See Tally's Privacy Policy. You can request deletion of a support response by emailing me@jaminzhou.com with enough information to identify it.
Children's privacy
PriceBird is not directed to children, and the app does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any updates will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
